SCOPE

This article refers to MegaWall2 running firmware 1.7 and above, and describes the result and solution to a MegaWall2 license expired. 



INTRODUCTION

The MegaWall2 requires a license key to enable the appropriate functions of the unit. All 3D perception MegaWall2 arrive with temporary licenses keys. This is to ensure that the product cannot be used by unauthorised personnel if, for example, the product is stolen or lost in transport. 


EXPIRY MESSAGE

Thirty days prior to expiry of a temporary license, the following message is sent to all displays/projectors connected to all configured output channels on the MegaWall2:


 MEGAWALL LICENSE EXPIRES
x-x20XX, 29 days left
Please contact your distributor
This text will be visible for 5 minutes,
and will appear again in 8h 5m 42s


The message is first shown at start-up and will be visible for 5 minutes-the first day. The message will re-appear every 8 hour. When there is only 1 day left, the message will appear every 30 minute.

If the license key is not renewed a no-valid license message will be displayed on the output channels:

RENEW THE LICENSE

To renew your license, please acquire the following information:

  1. Serial number of the MegaWall2. This can be found on the back (input/output side) of the MegaWall2.
  2. MAC-Address of the mainboard/controller card in the MegaWall2. To find the MAC-address, please download the latest nBox User Manual and read paragraph 4.1.1 Device address.
