StarScan IP address configuration
StarScan comes with a default IP address of 192.168.1.210. To change this, either connect a keyboard and mouse, our use VNC to log in remotely to the StarScan.
User name: test
Password: tester
You can now change the IP or enable DHCP addressing.
fsprotect
Starscan will be delivered with fsprotect installed, this protects the file system against failures if power is disconnected without a proper shutdown sequence. When fsprotect is installed, the following sequence must be used to change the IP:
Login
Disable fsprotect (sudo ./disable_fsprotect.sh)
Reboot
Login
Make changes
Reboot
Enable fsprotect (sudo ./enable_fsprotect.sh)
Reboot
Starscan Network Address Change Instructions
VPN is the same as before.
The new starscan uses an overlay filesystem as fsprotect is not supported.
Disable the Overlay Filesystem
Reboot.
Change the IP Address in /etc/dhcpcd.conf.
Right click, select Text Edit.
Edit the entries at the bottom of the file under eth0 and
save.
Re-enable the Overlay Filesystem
Reboot.
